Disturbed By The Sound…

Of…Silence…
By Joe Markenstein
Thursday February 19,2019
Oh Silence since I’ve said your name, You’re gone;
And oh to what sweet dying death thou owest,
A measure of Your finest wheat, a bonnet on
Your head with a wreath swaying toward the West;
Upon that gentil breeze we speak upon,
And as silently as Silence behests,
It rests on an hapax legomenon;
That once heard word, in a writer’s success,
Θne time to be said in the writer’s lexicon.
Silencio, Oh Silencio, rest!
In breaking Silence, by phenomenon,
Leaving all other words to Silence regress.
This note-rest is a musical essence
The noise: “Disturbed By The Sound Of Silence.”
