The concept of corporate social responsibility, usually only, focuses on sustainable issues without

taking the aspect that it might be profitable in consideration. A businesses’ main aim should be
making profits but at the same time balancing it with long term sustainability. Business provide
products and services to the community, implementation of sustainable approaches can lead to cost
savings in a long run. The concept of balancing short term profitability and long term sustainability
relates to aspects including environmental change, social change, corporate governance, competitive
balance and ethical trading. Due to CSR, regulatory authorities and NGO’s have pressurized the
corporate leaders, and changed the levels of expectations of a consumer and shareholders for more
responsible business activities.
