Descriptton/Aimy of the course:
‘The aim of the course is to introduce and develop basic mathematical skils, concepts, and understandings in the
Mathematical Processes, Number, Measurement. Geometry, Algebra and Statistics curriculum stands, This course will help
prepare a student for NCEA or Cambridge Intemational Exams a Fon 5 (Year 11),
‘All course objectives are that candidates wil be expected to:
’) apply these skills, concepts, & understandings to familiar and unfamiliar problems arising in real & simulated situations
i) demonsrate the ability to select and use appropriate mathematical techniques in problem solving
ii) demonstrate the ability to reason logically and systematically
iv) demonstrate the ability to communicate mathematical ideas.
