for Word 97, Word 2000, and Word XP

This is the installation document for the BibleWorks Hebrew Add-In for Word. The Add-
in provides Microsoft Word users with the following features:
 Right-to-left typing: Now you can type right-to-left in Hebrew!
 Smart RETURNs: Whether you are typing Hebrew phrases into an Engligh
document, or just typing lines of Hebrew, when you press ENTER, the line will be
correctly broken.
 Automatic vowel sizing: When you type a vowel, the vowel will be correctly
centered under the preceding consonant.
 Automatic vowel overstriking: The Add-in automatically checks if you have typed
two vowels in a row.

Installation Instructions
1. It is recommended that you print this document.
2. Previous versions of the Add-in must be removed using the hebword.doc that
came with that previous version of the Add-in.
3. You must enable the macros in this document to install. Select Tools | Macro |
Security from the menu and select “Medium”.
4. Restart Word. When asked, allow the macros in this document to run.

5. Double-click
6. Restart Word.

Manual Installation
To manually install the Hebrew add-in, you will need to copy whad97.dot and
wheb32.wll to the folders listed below.
 Word 97 & 2000: Copy the two files to your \office\startup folder
 Word XP: Copy the two files to your \WINDOWS\Application
Data\Microsoft\Word\STARTUP folder

Manual Uninstallation
To manually uninstall the Hebrew add-in, delete whad97.dot, wheb32.wll, and
wheb16.wll from the following folder:
 Word 97 & 2000: Delete from your \office\startup folder
 Word XP: Delete from your \WINDOWS\Application
Data\Microsoft\Word\STARTUP folder

Customizing the Macros


The Add-in functions are activated by four macros in the file whad97.dot. These
macros are named EnglishMode, EnglishHebrewMode, HebrewMode, and
IntelliVowelsToggle. Once the Add-in is installed, you can customize its behavior
by in opening whad97.dot and editing these macros. The online help for Word gives
details on this.

You can also configure hotkeys, toolbars, and menus for the Hebrew mode macros, once
the Add-in is installed. Look under the “Tools | Configure” menu in Word. The online help
for Word gives details on this.
Here is a brief description of the callable add-in functions used in the whad97.dot
macros:
 wllEnglishMode: This restores the last English font, left-to-right typing, and English
paragraph wrapping.
 wllEnglishHebrewMode: This saves the current English font, activates the Hebrew
font, and activates right-to-left typing.
 wllHebrewMode: This saves the current English font, activates the Hebrew font,
activates right-to-left typing, and activates Hebrew paragraph wrapping (when
ENTER is pressed).
 wllIntelliVowelsToggle: This turns on and off the IntelliVowels feature (prevention of
double vowels and auto-centering of vowels).
