Three students from the College of Engineering and Technology (CET) of Cor Jesu College bring

home the Victory against the competitors from other Colleges and Universities in the entire Region
XI, during the Institute of Computer Engineers of the Philippines (ICpEP-SE XI) AcadLympics
2018 held at Malayan Colleges of Mindanao, Matina, Davao City last September 28, 2018.

Louie John Castillo along with Christian Remonde represent Cor Jesu College to participate the
Computer Programming Competition. The result was, among all the other contestants, only two
teams have correctly answered two (2) of the given programming problems: Cor Jesu College
(CJC), and Ateneo de Davao University (AdDU). Therefore, CJC have tied with AdDU for
Championship, ultimately only losing through the time of submission. AdDU (Champion) have
submitted their solution first at 11:07 am, while CJC (1st-Runner Up) at 11:23 am.

Novibelle Senajon, and the prior students joined to compete for the Quiz Bowl Competion, which
consists of Easy, Average and Difficult Questions about the entire Computer Engineering Subjects
including General Information, in which our participants have dedicatedly studied for several
weeks. During the Contest, Team CJC tier is leading on easy and on average questions. Overall,
University of Mindanao-Tagum Branch become the Champion for getting (150 points), Ateneo
the Davao University at 1st Runner-up (130 points), Cor Jesu College at 2nd Runner-up (105
Points).

The winning team on each competitions will represent Region XI and compete for the upcoming
ICpEP 6th National Conference on Computer Applications, Innovations, Technologies and
Engineering (CAITE 2018) National Convention that will be held on November 26-29, 2018 at
Hotel Supreme Convention Plaza, Magsaysay Avenue, Baguio City.

This Academic Competition was attended by students and professors from different schools in
Region XI. June Marc Alberca also have the Participation Award for joining the AcadLympics
Committee. Our Contestants was sponsored by the Innovator’s Club of CJC. Engrs. Juvy Amor
Galindo, and Jamie Eduardo Rosal, the students’ mentors, expressed their joy and appreciation to
the efforts of the students in making this success, showing Computer Engineering Education of
CJC is one of the most outstanding in Region XI.
