A magnetic flow meter is technically an electromagnetic
flow meter or more commonly called known as mag
meter. When magnetic field is applied to the metering
tube, which results in a potential difference proportional to
the flow velocity right angle to the field line.
And the best part is that it doesn't have any moving parts

estimate bulk flow.

Verification.
