TUNE IN RADIO

A Gilbert and Sullivan morning from the Royal Albert Hall will be planned to include
excerpts from Patience, Princess Ida and The Yeomen of the Guard. Marcus Gary will
conduct.

A special recording will be made of Beethoven’s Emperor Concerto, played by the


Russian-born pianist Vladimir Roskovitch.

Future programmes will include talking to Bertram Riley. He is a reporter based in


Rhodesia, but is now working for The Guardian.

TUNE IN TELEVISION

John Burbridge talks to Susan Lambert about her friendship with L. H. Brian who based
his third and last novel, The Wild One, on her life. The talk will be fully illustrated.

In the first of a new series Maurice Gibson talks to Lady Amelia Welby, widow of Sir
Alfred Welby, who was imprisoned in Japan and later banished without reason. Her latest
book Life behind Bars will be discussed at some length.
