Changing the Future to the Present:

Present Tense Verbs Ending in Y
If a verb ends with a vowel before -y, add -s for the third person present tense (happening
now). If a verb ends with a consonant before -y, remove the y and add -ies.
Change the verbs below from future tense to present tense. The first one is done for you.

She will play the flute. ---> She plays the flute.

He will buy a sandwich on Tuesday. ---> He a sandwich on Tuesday.

The baby will carry the pacifier. ---> The baby the pacifier.

Seongmin will copy the notes. ---> Seongmin the notes.

MacKayla’s dad will fry the potatoes. ---> MacKayla’s dad the potatoes.

The sprinkler will spray the cat. ---> The sprinkler the cat.

Jada will fly a kite. ---> Jada a kite.
