Universal Design for Learning (UDL): Through the use of this lesson idea students will able to explain and
represent their work through the use of audio, images, and text in multiple slides. This supports all
students within the classroom. It can be very helpful to English student learners because it supports their
transitioning from their native languages to English. And, can be used as review tool or assist them in
expression in multiple ways. They are able to edit as they go along will notice their specific high and low
points. This can also be used for students that struggle in writing and are able to describe a particular text
through oral language.

Lesson idea implementation: The colors, colors, colors, everywhere power point representation is going to be
used as an example for students to use a template or simply what power point offers to involve into the
curriculum. Teacher will demonstrate power point and then walk students through each feature for practice.
Students will have the free option to choose a favorite book to present a power point slide show as a book
report. They are required to add text, images, and audio in their work. A total of seven slides are required
such as a title, author, and illustrator, main characters, setting, important event 1,2, and 3, and then their
favorite part.
Students are required to use internet to find images. A rubric will be assigned to assist students as they
design their power point to ensure they have included everything. Students will then be asked to share and
present their work at specific time frame. Teacher will be available to assist any student if they need help.
Also, remembering they can also go back to look at example given and are allowed a few minutes at the
beginning of lesson for exploration and become familiar with features within PowerPoint.

Reflective Practice: Students can present their work to parents and siblings. Also, can collaborate and share
with classroom peers and view each other’s creativity. Students can also publish their power points in a
school blog. Also, can be used as a practice tool to create a more advanced power point slide show in the
future.
