Changes to Commissioners’ duties

1. Bylaws 15: Add “Executives shall fulfill IAR, AODA, Health and Safety Trainings before the
beginning of the term following their installment in position”
2. Bylaws 15.7, 15.8, 15.9: Add “shall serve as a voting member of the Executive” to duties of
Commissioners of Equity, Health and Wellness, and Sustainability.
3. Bylaws 15.8: Add “Commissioner of Equity and Equity Commission Members shall fulfill
PCAP SGDO training within a month of their installment in their positions” and
“Commissioner of Equity to update the equity resources page on the AVSSU website once
per year”
4. Bylaws 15.9: Change “Shall serve as co-chair of the Sustainability Committee with the Equity
Co-Chair” to “Shall serve as chair of the Sustainability Commission.”
Changes to VP Academic’s voting rights
5. Bylaws 15.6: Add “shall serve as a voting member of the Executive” to duties of VP Academic
Changes to Representative Duties and Elections
6. Constitution 4.1i: Remove “Representative roles excluding 1st year representative”
7. Constitution 4.1iii: Change “the 1st year representative” to “all representatives”
8. Bylaws 4.2: Add “Candidates for Stream Representatives must be enrolled in the
corresponding stream.”
9. Constitution 5.1: Addition of a second Architectural Studies: Comprehensive Stream
Representative so as to better reflect the program proportions.
10. Bylaws 15: Add the following duties to each member of the representative board as point
15.10:
Representatives
a. shall liaise with the VP Academic;
b. shall relay messages from the Executive to the student population through class
announcements, posters, or other means deemed necessary;
c. shall serve on at least one committee/commission and/or lead a major project or
series of projects through the school year (examples include but are not limited to
weekly studio dinner, AVSSU’s Design Challenge, studio etiquette videos, etc.) to be
chosen by the representative at their discretion;
d. shall assist Executives in their projects as needed;
e. shall attend regular Representative Board meetings and AVSSU General Council
Meetings.
