St. Boniface Street Links
311 Provencher Boulevard
Letter of Support
Following an inspection of our premises at 311 Provencher Blvd, by the City of Winnipeg, it wes
determined that St. Boniface Street Links (SBSL) requires a Conditional Use Permit to continue providing
the services we currently provide to our residents. It is our understanding that the Conditional Use Permit
will clearly identify the current use of the building and will formalize the building code issues we need to
conform to
BSL will require 2 variances within this Conditional Use application
1) The first variance will be to accommodate up to 18 people which is the limit we currently have.
2) The second would be to permit a minimum of 2 parking stalls at the back of the property instead
of 3 which is the current minimum requirement under this conditional use.
This application will be supported by the City of Winnipeg's Property, Planning and Development
department and will be submitted to the Board of Adjustment for approval. We were advised that it would
be very helpful to have the support of our immediate neighbors.
The Board of Association des residents du Vieux Saint-Boniface — Old St. Boniface
Residents’ Association, have confirmed their agreement with the goals and actions of St.
Boniface Street Links operating at 311 Provencher Boulevard, and are supportive of the 2
variances requested to enable the continued presence of St. Boniface Street Link at that
address.
Whereas Street Links has been operating at that address for over 2 years without any incidence or
complaints of neighbours,
Whereas Street Links provide a valuable service by providing temporary accommodation for homeless
‘members of our community and helping them get reinstated in the community in more permanent
housing, and
Whereas the variation request is to normalise and existing situation and does not represent a change
of operating method or expansion of activities.
