The Evolution of Reforestation in Brazil The study charted the development of reforestation initiatives in Brazil (with particular focus on the economic conditions of the country and the policies made to address them) and made a cost-benefit analysis of fiscal incentives of afforestation and reforestation project.. Forest reforestation was defined in terms of annually planted area/acreage, inversely, deforestation is defined in terms of the reduction of annually planted area/acreage. The study showed that based on relevant literature through the years, financial incentive and spread of reforestation are not necessarily correlated. Thus the author proposed that The weakness of the study is that it focused only on homogenous reforestation, particularly one that is directed towards meeting the demand for roundwood production.
