Study proposal

My name is Yasir Shah. I have done my matriculation from Peshawar Model School (Mardan branch).After
securing 726 Marks, it was easy for me to get admission in good college. I made it to Quaid-e-Azam College
(Sawabi) for FSc. I chose pre-Engineering as my majors because of the interested I had for Physics and
Math. In two years of my session at college, I realized that I was much more interested in physics
comparatively than other subjects. After securing 728 Marks in FSc I decided to take admission at Islamia
College University (Peshawar) in BS Physics. I did my research on ‘Fundamental study of properties and
application of Graphene’ in Material Physics.

Now I have decided to go for higher studies and take admission in Master program. I am keenly interested
in Material and particle physics. I would like to continue my research in one of the mentioned field of
Physics. The reason I have selected Material physics for further studies is because it has a lot of application
in daily life e.g Solar Panels and LCDs (Liquid Crystal Display). Solar panels and solar devices will help to
resolve energy crisis world-wide because this is now a global issue and I want to take my part in
understanding and resolving this issue. Whereas, LCDs are quickly replacing Television sets because LCDs
save a lot of energy comparatively and I would to study these things to make it better.

I want to take admission in KUST because of its quality education. The physics department specially is very
good in research which I believe, will provide a better environment for me in terms of research.
