Zen is a simple philosophy that believes in getting straight to the essentials without rituals or scriptures. It originated in India as the practice of dhyana, which aims to achieve a state of pure consciousness without any thoughts. When dhyana spread to China it became chan, and when it reached Japan it was called zen. At its core, zen teaches being alone with one's own being and achieving a thought-free state of pure subjectivity and clarity of mind.

Zen is like a telegram. It Believes in the very essential. It has no nonsense around it,no rituals,no chanting, No mantras,no scriptures-just small anecdotes. Commented [1]:
IF YOU HAVE THE RIGHT AWARENESS IT WILL HIT YOU
DIRECTLY IN THE HEART.
ZEN was born in India, grew in China and blossomed in
Japan. Zen mean same as dhayn and is Japanese change of this word. Dhayn is the whole effort of Indian consciousness, and means to be so alone,so into your own being,That not even a single THOUGHT EXISTS. In English there is no direct translation of the word. Contemplation is not the word;Contemplation means, thinking, reflection. Even Meditation is not the word because meditation involves an object to meditate upon;it means something is there. You can meditate on Jesus Christ or you meditate on the cross. But Dhayn means to be so alone that there is nothing to meditate upon. No object just simple subjectivity exist - consiousness Without clouds ,A PURE SKY. THIS IS ZEN. When the word Dhayn reached China it became chán. When chán reached Japan it became ZEN. IT COMES FROM THE SAME SANSKRIT ROOT DHYAN.
