ABSTRACT

The aim of this project is to design a plant that would produce sodium hypochlorite and then
do the environmental assessment on plant, a hazop study and costs. The environmental
assessment study helps in knowing the environmental regulations that has to be followed and
the hazop study helps identifying challenges that may occur in harming people nor equipment
and also do the on equipments and also production costs.

SUMMARY
In this project we took into consideration the plant location, and as it to how the by-products
are going to be distributed in order for the plant not to release too much waste too much
waste on the environment based on the environmental impacts assessment study and we also
took into consideration the possible hazards that might happen on equipments and people
working on the plant, based on the hazop study. This project objective is to successfully
produce sodium hypochlorite and it was realised

CONCLUSION
It can be deduced that the plant is a success, it has a great location for transportation of
materials and disposal of waste, good labour and great market area. The is also a success
because the by-products can be sold to the nearest companies
