Dunloggin Middle School stream restoration project

to begin
ELLICOTT CITY, MD – A Howard County construction project to restore and stabilize
approximately 1,475 linear feet of stream in the vicinity of 9129 Northfield Road in Ellicott City
is scheduled to begin on or about Friday, June 30. These unnamed tributaries to the Plumtree
Branch have been heavily impacted by stormwater and have eroded significantly. The project
will include the use of wood and rock structures to reestablish a more natural stream, reduce
instream erosion and improve water quality. Weather permitting, the project is expected to be
completed by early September 2017.

The project is not expected to impact the flow of traffic in the area; however, signs will be
posted in the area to alert pedestrians of the work.

This project is funded through the County’s Watershed Protection and Restoration Fund
