Welcome!
• Welcome to the ANSYS Fluent turbulent flow modeling advanced training
course!
• This training course provides a comprehensive overview of using ANSYS Fluent
to perform turbulent flow simulations.
• It is intended for trained ANSYS Fluent users with an interest in an in-depth
exploration of turbulence modeling in CFD
• Course Objectives:
– Basic overview of turbulent flow characteristics and why turbulence needs to be
modeled
– Background and theory for common turbulence modeling approaches including RANS,
LES and hybrid RANS-LES models
– Description of turbulence models available in ANSYS Fluent
– Basic overview of near wall modeling issues and near wall modeling approaches in
ANSYS Fluent
– Describe strategies to employ in turbulence model selection
