This code, together with DS 409, DS 410, DS 412, and DS 415 forms the com- mon basis for the design and construction of pile-supported offshore steel structures in the Danish sector of the North Sea. The code is a set of requirements which aims to secure a reason- able standard for offshore platforms for hydrocarbon production. The requirements coever actions, materials, design requirements in respect of safety, construction including protection against corro- sion, transportation, installation, and inspection. The design requirements are based on safety evaluation using the partial safety coefficient method. Where appropriate the requirements of the code are supplement- ed with non-mandatory guidelines stating examples of applicable methods and supplementary comments or references. Supplementary comments are given in Annex A - F in a separate volume. ‘The present translation has been prepared for information only. Only the original Danish edition is approved and, where the code is prescribed, only the current Danish edition will be applicable. The Danish edition came into force 1 April 1983.
