Department of Applied Finance at Macquarie University invites academics and PhD students
to submit papers for consideration of presentation at the 10th Financial Markets and Corporate
Governance and PhD symposium (FMCG 2019). The Conference and the PhD symposium will
be held between 16-18 April 2019 at the City Campus of Macquarie University—the Angel
Place, 123 Pitt Street, Sydney.

FMCG 2019 will be hosted by Department of Applied Finance at Macquarie in conjunction

with the Department of Banking and Finance, Monash Business School, Monash University,
and La Trobe Business School, La Trobe University and School of Accounting and
Commercial Law and School of Economics and Finance, Victoria University of Wellington.

The theme for FMCG 2019 is Capital Markets, Sustainability and Disruptive Technologies,
and you are invited to submit papers for presentation at either the conference or the PhD
symposium related to all areas which include (but are not limited to): Asset Pricing, Banking,
Behavioural Finance, Corporate Finance, Corporate Governance, Derivatives, Disruptive
Innovation, Dividend Policy, Environmental Finance, Emerging Markets, Financial Economics,
Financial Reporting, Financial Regulations, Market Microstructure, Investments and Funds
Management, Sustainability, etc.

Special Conference Issue - Pacific Basin Finance Journal

Pacific Basin Finance Journal will run a special conference issue of the journal and all
presenters at the conference are invited to consider submitting their papers for publication after
the presentation of their papers at the FMCG Conference. Pacific Basin Finance Journal,
published by Elsevier, provides a specialised forum for the publication of academic research
on capital markets.

Submission and notification

Papers must be submitted by Sunday, 20 January 2019, 5pm Australian Eastern Daylight
Standard Time. Late submissions will NOT be accepted under any circumstances so please
allow adequate time to complete the online submission process.

Email notification of the outcome of submissions is expected to be sent to the submitting author
by mid Feb 2019.

Five best research paper awards ($500 each) at the PhD Symposium.

One best paper award will be presented under each of the following categories
a. Accounting Information/ Disclosure Practices/Earnings Quality/Auditing
b. Asset Pricing/Emerging Markets /Financial Markets/Market Microstructure
c. Banking/Behavioural Finance/Corporate Finance/Financial Economics
d. Corporate Governance/Social Responsibility
e. Funds Management/Risk Management/Quantitative Finance

Five Conference Best Paper awards ($1000 each)

One best paper award will be presented under each of the following categories
a. Accounting Information/ Disclosure Practices/Earnings Quality/Auditing
b. Asset Pricing/Emerging Markets /Financial Markets/Market Microstructure
c. Banking/Behavioural Finance/Corporate Finance/Financial Economics
