Proposed Outline

Philippines had been on the top of the list of the most corrupt countries not only in Southeast
Asia but also in the world. With that situation being said, the government is trying its very best
to alleviate this issue. This paper will focus on the impact of budget transparency in the
Philippines’ corruption index. That despite the idea of a high number in the transparency index,
but according to the latest index it tells otherwise. The first part of this paper will discuss about
what is budget transparency, the practice of budget transparency in the Philippines. The
second part will be about the status quo of corruption in the Philippines, what were the actions
of the government in addressing the issue. Lastly, what is its effect with regards to the
economic status or efficiency in the country.
