during pregnancy

Abstract:

Blood pressure is the leading non communicable diseases affecting patient

health during pregnancy. Though it is termed as a deficiency rather than a
disease, uncontrolled blood pressure will lead to complications resulting in
stroke/kidney failure/ heart-attack/mental death leading to amputation if not
diagnosed, monitored and treated on time.
In order to avoid these complications it should be periodically monitored
using blood pressure sensor.This monitor will detect the systolic and
diastolic pressures, which are used to define arterial blood pressure. The
systole and diastole have been estimated using the oscillometric technique.
These values are updated through Wi-Fi on to a data base, which can be
accessed remotely. The results are then compared to already commercially
available blood pressure monitors.It monitors the blood pressure level at
regular interval. The proposed system is for preventing the high blood
pressure and wide pressure fluctuations. The main advantage of this system
is instant reporting of blood pressure level whether the pressure level is
falling or rising. In addition, GSM module attached to this device will enable
wireless data sharing facility. The results can therefore be transmitted easily
to the doctor for examination. The results obtained can also be stored for
future records and also to analyze variations in blood pressure level and
reduced the premature birth and death by adjustment of dosage of medicine.
