NARRATIVE REPORT ON REMEDIAL INSTRUCTION

Nowadays almost every school deals with pupils who have problem in their
learning capacity or what we call slow learners which often results to dropouts, repetition
or absenteeism.

In this regard, Milan Elementary School conducted remedial classes for those
pupils who needs special attention. In this way, the teacher can help motivate and
encourage the learner to put extra effort to learn and to catch-up with his/her classmates.
This may also help avoid problems that may arise in the future.

The following objectives were organized for the remedial instruction. The first one
is to decrease Non-Readers and Non –Numerates. In order to achieved this, several
activities were done like: Conduct Remedial Classes to those slow learners; Call the
attention of the parents; Home Visitation; Construct Support Instructional Materials; Ask
the support of the Parents to have a feeding Program; Provide a room conducive for
learning; Provide Enrichment Activities to those slow learners. These have been done at
the start of June 2017 till March 2018, with the adviser, pupils, parents and school head
involved.

Another objectives for the remedial instruction that the school attain to achieve are:
Maintain Zero Dropout Rate; Increase Promotion Rate; Maintain Zero Failure Rate;
Decrease Repetition. Several activities were conducted in order to achieve these
objectives like: Conduct Review Classes Focusing on least Learned Skills; Adopt
fortunate pupils; Seek Assistance from local officials; Conduct Remedial Class; Involve
PTA, Stake Holders in Planning and Implementing of programs, project, and other
activities of school; Encourage them to participate in all activities of the school. These
have also been done at the start of June 2017 till March 2018, with the teacher, school
head, parent and pupils involved.

All of the objectives were completed and have attained satisfactorily results. The
Milan Elementary School Remedial Instruction was implemented successfully.
