Lowood School There were about eighty girls in the schoolroom, divided into four classes. The oldest girls were in the fourth class, and the youngest were in the first class. | was in the first class. All four classes had our lessons in the same large and very cold schoolroom. Do not talk to this child.” Then he spoke to me again. “Jane Eyre, you must stand on that chair for two hours," he said. "You are a bad girl!" That evening, as | cried and cried alone, Miss Temple saw me. She came to me and held my hand. I gradusted from Utah State University with a Marketing degree and then decided to lear a foreign language. | wont to the University of Idaho and started a Spanish course. | chose Spanish because | hava {rignds who speak Spanish, and | think i's a useful language. As part ofthe course, | had to study abroad. After investigating various options, Idacided to come to Casta Rica. A friend comas from here, and she told me it was a beautiful country. In Casta Riea, | was nervous at first. However, the people at University Studies Abroad Consortium {who organized the trip] were very friendly. On the first weekend, they took me and the othar USAC students ta visit 9 lot of great places. had 8 good teacher in Costa Rica, so | learned a lot of Spanish. After the caurse, four months later, | returned to Idaho. | really wanted to study abroad again! This time, | went to Spain, First, | went to Madrid, and after that, | went to Bilbao. In both places, | saw many interesting sights and was able to improve my Spanish. In Bilbao, we spoke Spanish all the time in class! At first, | was annoyed because I couldn't understand everything, but | sean improved. My time in Spain was an unforgettable experience, and | have many fantastic memories. It was a great opportunity to sosialize and become friends with people from all aver the world. If you live with a host family, it more economical, but my buelgot was big enough for me to rent an apartment. It was goad to learn about the histary and values of the peaple there, as well as the language. Alter Spain, | returned home for Christmas and then carne back to- Casta Rica for one final semester. Here, | met a Costa Rican git, named Maritza, She was a student ot the University of Costa Rica and spoke graat English, When I first met her, | knew | would not want to leave Costa Rica again found a job in Costa Rica exparting fruit and vegetables to the U.S.A. A few months ago, | graduated with a degree in Spanish. Then I married Maritza.
