xpansion and Upgrades Lead to Areviated eason
Memphis, TN - As Theatre Memphis looks toward its 100 th  anniversar in the 2020-21
season, it has made its pla selections for an upcoming areviated season to run through
2019 to accommodate the expansion and upgrade plans to the facilit to celerate the
centur mark. The season will offer four shows and the venue will close for a period of time
after the 42 nd  annual production of A Christmas Carol (which is not part of the season
memership ut memers get discounts on full price adult tickets). A grand re-opening will
occur in August of 2020 with larger common areas, additional service areas and more rest
room facilities to address the increase in attendance over the past few ears. A season-long
celeration of the centennial milestone will occur during the 2020-21 season.

The 411 seat proscenium Lohre tage will egin the new season with the energetic juke
ox musical  Mamma Mia!  et on a Greek island and to the music of the international pop
group AA, a oung girl plans her wedding while tring to discover who of three men ma
e her father … all to the distress and ultimate jo of her mother.  Cats,  ased on the
ook Old Possum's ook of Practical Cats  T.. liot, will follow in the season line up with
striking choreograph and memorale tunes  Andrew Llod Weer. In this most-loved
musical the scene is set in a large ruish area which, after dark, ecomes alive with cats
of all tpes, shapes and sizes gathering for the Jellicle all, during which one cat will e
allotted an extra precious life. Cats is heralded as one of the longest running shows on
roadwa and includes the remarkale tune, “Memor”. The famil favorite,  A Christmas
Carol* , will e performed as a special holida offering in Decemer for the
42 nd  consecutive ear at Theatre Memphis.

Little Women  will return to the Next tage in Jul 10 – 21, 2019 as part of our ummer
howcase. A sold out run during the 2018-19 season prompted the return of the classic
which has een adapted and directed  Jason pitzer. Though not part of the season
memership, memers will e afforded discounts on the adult full price ticket.

The 100 seat lack ox Next tage season leads off with  A Few Good Men.  et in 1986, an

apathetic militar lawer is assigned to the case of two Marines charged with the murder of
a fellow squadron memer at the Guantanamo a Naval ase. An Internal Affairs legal ace
thinks there is something amiss and pursues justice as the defendants refuse a plea
argain.

The facts come out and lead to a court martial courtroom showdown that exposes the truth.
The fast-paced and funn  Ruthless! The Musical  comes up next satirizing old movie
classics like The ad eed and All Aout ve. The plot reveals a talented eight-ear-old,
Tina, who declares her show iz amition. nter lvia t. Croix, an overearing, sleaz
talent agent with a secret who encourages her to audition for the school pla. Tina
“accidentall” hangs her major rival to get the part … onl to e sent up the river and swept
aside  her mother, Jud Denmark, who finds her own voice and soars to stardom. Once
Tina is released from incarceration, she returns for her own revenge with dreams of a
comeack and more murderous mahem.

eason memerships for the   new   2019 season will e availale March 8, 2019,   calling

901.682.8323. A full regular memership is $145 and includes six tickets. Tickets are good
to use on an performance (limit of four per musical) and can e used in comination on an
show, excluding A Christmas Carol and ummer howcases, all of which are not part of the
memership package.  eason memers do, however, receive discounts on tickets to these
events and holida and special offerings.   Regular Memerships secured prior to April 16,
2018, will receive a $15 discount off the regular memership price and a seventh ticket!  
A Prologue Memership is eing offered to individuals 35 ears old and ounger. This
memership involves uing a Memer Card and receiving ticket discount prices on
individual shows and memer enefits. Call the ox office for details at 901.682.8323.

All shows perform at 7:30pm on Thursdas, 8pm on Fridas and aturdas with matinees on
undas at 2pm, unless otherwise designated.  ingle ticket prices for adults are $35 for
musicals and $25 for dramas/comedies, $15 for students. There is a $5 discount on full
price adult tickets for militar personnel and seniors 62 and older.
