INDUSTRIAL MEACHINES PERFORMANCE MONITORING AND MAINTANENCE

NOTIFICATIONS

Abstract:
Smart sensing, devices, and monitoring are essential to localized motor condition
monitoring and service applications. A unique approach to the smart device is the
use of low-cost wireless sensors for machine condition measurement .For
example, for a typical industrial motor we install a current ,voltage ,temperature
,torque ,speed and vibration sensors . Now all these sensor data is transferred to
a central system by means of national instruments ethernet gate way where the
system makes all the analysis like motor efficiency thermal time constant
statistics’ etc now say the system detects the motor running at poor efficiency or
over heated or makes abnormal current swings immediately the system generates
an alarm signal and sends the maintenance team information about particular
machine location and performance statistics’ . Thus by this smart monitoring
system we can do maintenance when required only which makes low
maintenance costs and we forecast faults before they appear hence reliability and
overall plant performance can be improved.
