In Quran ALLAH says

“And we made every living thing of water” Quran 21:30

“Do you not see that ALLAH sends down rain from the sky and makes it flow as springs[And Rivers] in
the earth ; Then he produces thereby crops of varying colors ; Then they dry and you see them turned
yellow ; Then he makes them [scattered] debris .Indeed in that is a reminder for those of understanding.
(SuraH Zumar Ayah 21)

The Holy Prophet Muhammad SAW once narrated

“ The best form of charity is to give someone water”

Assalam o Alaikum and have a wonderful morning I bid to MR. President and all the presence .This
morning it is my pleasure to share with all my audiences on my talk. Yes Mr. President my today topic is
the Importance of water in my Country Pakistan.

MR. President IT is universally acknowledged that water is life because it is essential to human
existence, as the human body can last weeks without food, but only days without water. Indeed, water
is food also, as it is indispensable to agriculture and is critical input into a country’s agriculture,
especially when it is situated in an arid or semi-arid zone. Last but not the least; water is energy as well,
as worldwide hydropower accounts for 17% of global electricity production.

Mr. Preisdent According to experts, agriculture will need to produce 60% more food globally, and 100%
more in developing countries by 2050. Loss of storage capacity due to sedimentation in Tarbela and
Mangla Dams is causing serious drop even for existing agricultural production. Energy shortfall has
already blighted Pakistan, as industry in all the provinces has been adversely impacted. Secondly, the
cost of electricity generated by IPPs using fossil-fuel is 4-time more than hydropower.

According to a recent report by the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Pakistan ranks third in the world
among countries facing acute water shortage. Reports by the United Nations Development Programme
(UNDP) and the Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources (PCRWR) also warn the authorities that
the South Asian country will reach absolute water scarcity by 2025. "No person in Pakistan, whether
from the north with its more than 5,000 glaciers, or from the south with its 'hyper deserts,' will be
immune to this scarcity," said Neil Buhne, UN humanitarian coordinator for Pakistan.

Mr. President climate change will have a significant impacts on water resources in the region requiring a
review of all water engineering projects. According to report of International Commission on large dams,
there are 150 dams in Pakistan. Pakistan has also the advantage of having two largest dams in the world
namely Tarbela Dam ranked first and Mangla Dam ranked seven. But I feel very sorry to say that we only
celebrate the rankings but not the actual function and capacity of these dams which we are loosing very
quickly.
Water is one of the most important substances that are needed for plants and animals. We cannot lead
our day to day life without water. Water makes up more than half of our body weight. Without water,
all organisms in the world would die. Water is necessary not only for drinking but also for our day to day
life purposes like bathing, cooking, cleaning, and washing and so on. We cannot imagine a life without
water. Other than drinking and household purposes, water is important for existence of our world.
Conservation of Water is important for our goodness and for the future to come. We need to take
initiatives to save water whether there is scarcity or not. We never know the importance of water until a
pond or a river or a well dry, water is our life , We can’t live without water , safe one drop of water, safe
one life.

Do we know Mr. President?

The Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources (PCRWR) delivered a grave warning: if the
government does not take action, the country will run out of water by 2025. Severe water scarcity is
already having a negative impact on the country’s public health and the economy. Over 80 percent of
water supplied is considered unsafe, and water scarcity and water-borne diseases are resulting in a loss
of up to 1.44 percent of GDP. A number of standalone initiatives are underway to mitigate this impact;
what else is needed now is a coordinated national policy on water.

Yes Mr. President .

Approximately 95 percent of Pakistan’s water is used for agriculture, with 60 percent of its population
directly involved in agriculture and livestock, and 80 percent of exports based on these sectors. Despite
having the world’s largest glaciers, Pakistan is among the world’s 36 most water-stressed countries.

As the population rapidly increases, water demand is projected to far outstrip supply. As this happens—
coupled with strained relations with the country’s neighbors over transboundary water resources—the
water crisis is posing a threat to the country’s future security, stability, and sustainability. Immediate
coordinated planning and implementation is required to avert disaster.

There are four thousand acres of Changa manga jungle and three thousand acres of tree are cut from
that, and 100 billion Rupee woods have been sold. Water crisis is not limited to agricultural use only.
The crisis of drinking water has also covered us. Only 12 percent of the water supply system is clean and
88% of people connected to it are drinking dirty and hazardous Water. According to the report of the
administration of planning and development, arsenic, fluoride and nitrate is being found in drinking
water and According to the report of the Pakistan Council of Water Resources, 200,000 children are
dying every year due to hazardous health water. According to the an independent report 300,000
children are dying every year due to hazardous health water.

Mr. President

There is no doubt Pakistan is an agriculture country depends upon 75% agriculture cultivation and the
major crops are fully valuable even exportable by modern changes, especially cotton, cane and rice
which needs at the nick of time fully water to enhance the value of cultivation. Although by the hazards
and storms we have to lose the crops which turned turtle. It is a natural affair but When we going to be
a leader of a nation we have to think upon the total population(humanity) how to maintain good
reserves for better value of living hood but all in vain at the front of their personal ego and wills. They do
not care to think about humanity for better living standards. After watching all these acts of obsessive
heroes have we made the final decision of collective suicide?

Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) in Pakistan announced that water capacity of the
Tarbela Dam, one of Pakistan’s most important dams, has fallen by 30%. WAPDA warned the Senate
that while water consumption is increasing in Pakistan, the countries ability to store water is decreasing,
urging leaders to build more dams in Pakistan.

To Conclude My topic Mr. President I have suggestions to give !

If prioritized, water can serve as the engine of economic growth and regional trade expansion. The
water economy has the potential to increase total annual agricultural GDP to $200 billion from its
current $50 billion.

Pakistan needs a sound national water policy which delineates the framework for balanced socio-
economic development, management, and conservation of the country’s water resources in an
environment challenged by climate change.

Pakistan aspires to become one of the 10 largest economies in the world by 2047. Given the importance
of water to Pakistan’s economy, getting water resource management right will be essential to realizing
this goal. Water issues need to be resolved expediently for the sake of peace and prosperity in the
country. We owe this to our future generations.

Pakistan is an agricultural country, and agriculture accounts for about one fourth of GDP. Over 50%
labour force is related to agrarian profession; hence water is of paramount importance for Pakistan. The
shortage of water means that our future generations may have to face hunger and starvation. Pakistan
had suffered a loss exceeding five billion rupees in paddy crop production only in the wake of water
shortage after India stopped Chenab water to fill its Baglihar dam in 2008.

Mr. President

In Germany every house has two meters to gauge the use of water. “The meters report any overuse of
water for which citizens are required to pay additional taxes,” he said remarking that water was no less
than a blessing and that a prudent water-saving system like that of Germany would also immensely
benefit Pakistan.

Mr. President The future wars will be upon water and I have sacrificed the Blood of my holy Country I
am not in favor of being in war again .Not again

Thank you

And in end to my holy leaders of parliament and policy makers I can Say only that “
