The 6th grade class would like to invite parish members to help with the last service
project of the year. Our class will be taking donations of food during the Lenten Season
to give to Food for the Poor. The items that are needed most are non-perisable food
products such as; noodle, mac/cheese, and rice cups, pop top cans of ravioli, spaghetti,
pasta sauce, canned fruit, and etc, small boxes of pasta, pudding and fruit cups, shelf
stable milk, cereal, pancake mix made with water, small containers of syrup, and
breakfast bars. Healthy snacks are needed also. We encourage everyone to check the
grocery isles for good tasteing, healthy items that will satisfy a hungry student.

forward to doing our part to help this service project be successful.

the difference between fleeting happiness and enduring joy. It will help give them the opportunity to begin to
experience an authentic joy that can sustain them for a lifetime. To check it out and/or register, go to
www.archkck.org/camp

“St Joseph Catholic Church CCD parents! Please apply for scholarships to send your kids to one of these camps this

Intellectual and Spiritual Commission Survey

Mission Statement: We are called to assist in the religious, moral and spiritual formation of our parishioners in order
to know God, serve Him and spread the good news of Christ.
The Intellectual and Spiritual Commission have been meeting to plan and budget ideas and events for the year 2019-2020
and beyond. We want to plan for things that will help our parishioners gain knowledge of their Catholic faith and deepen their
spiritual life and relationship with Jesus. We also want to plan some fun family events to build community within our parish. This
week we are inserting a survey for you to take home and fill out and give some prayerful consideration, so we can include events
that you want in our budget for next year.
Please Comment and return by April 7th in the Survey box in the back of church. You do not need to put your name on
your survey. Please give us HONEST feedback so that we can accomplish our mission.
Blessings,
Intellectual and Spiritual Commission Members: Kay and Brian Schmidt, Lisa Cole, Beth Schmidt, Rose Redeker, Ryan Arnold

MARRIAGE MINUTE- Journey of 1000 Miles…

Begins with the first step, and sometimes, the first step is the most difficult. Imagine the Prodigal
Son; how difficult was it for him to acknowledge his offenses against his dad? The lost son had to admit
serious sin, swallow his pride, and risk being rejected. The same scenario exists in the married
relationship. How often does a spouse have to risk rejection if he or she admits wrongdoing and asks for
forgiveness? Humility is difficult, but it is always worth it. If reconciling with your spouse is difficult, try
the following:
• Remember the last time you reconciled and the joy of being reunited
• Look ahead and imagine how great it will be to be set free from your prison of isolation
• Remember how Christ desires reconciliation and ask for His help
For practical strategies to reconcile, check out Every Day in Love at www.archkck.org/every

Transparency and accountability are imperative in the Church’s response to the crisis of sexual abuse of
minors. In response to current national discussions, our Archdiocese encourages you to visit our website
that provides important information, addresses questions and offers an opportunity for parishioners to share
their concerns and lend their voices by responding to an online survey. Please visit
https://responseincrisis.archkck.org/ to learn how we actively safeguard the innocent and provide care for
those affected by abuse. Please join us in praying to our Blessed Mother, Mary, who feels our sorrow and shares
our pain.
