Pavement Construction Process

First, the soil where the pavement will be made is removed and it is compacted and leveled.

Second, the cistern waters the area where the pavement will be made. The amount of water is

established by the engineer so that the soil reaches the optimum density. Third, the soil is again

compacted and leveled. Then the sub base that is a special type of soil for the construction of

pavements is placed on top of the previously compacted soil. Next, the sub base is compacted

and leveled and then the asphalt is placed on the sub base while the workers level the asphalt.

Finally, the asphalt is compacted until the engineer indicates that the pavement is ready.
