Discrimination in Romania

Because discrimination that brings marginalization and segregation of certain categories

of individuals targeted by such practices, current society perpetuates inequality of rights of
people, judging, and condemning those who do not even agree chance to lead a decent living.
Disability is only a matter of perception. Everyone can do things that others do things they can
do.

Discrimination against persons with different disabilities can manifest itself directly by:
limiting the equal opportunity to participate in public life; limiting the opportunity to have a
normal social life; inability to engage and make a living; inability to access certain institutions or
utilities involved in everyday life. Painful though, is that discrimination subtle that most people
who suffer from any disabilities do not realize, but rather generates and perpetuates the standards
and rules that direct / indirect or intentionally / unintentionally impose on everyone else. Such
discrimination is found for example in "labels" attributed to these people. The terms used to
identify the needs are discriminatory itself as such by the very term "disabilities" etymologically
analyzed, they absolutely deny any ability. This false denial has a great impact on the identity
and dignity of the individual.

Denying certain fundamental rights such as the right to an education adapted depending
on "different abilities", access to proper medical care, the opportunity to learn a trade in
accordance with individual skills and the opportunity to earn their own living, right to express
their sexuality, etc. All these aspects represent discriminatory acts and viewed as a whole have a
significant impact on the individual and its harmonious development.

People with disabilities are excluded from social life (just strolling between home and
specialized institutions), making it often affecting the right to enter into contact with an
environment that might make you feel the reality surrounding them. For subjects disability,
barriers are external, are for mechanical, technological or administrative. Independence in
specific social means for these people, access ramps and other means of travel and you
understand everyone because if not visible, may become viewable.
