Summary:

The Impact of School Bullying On Students’ Academic Achievement from Teachers Point of View

The study aimed to investigate school bullying impact on students’ academic achievement from
teachers’ perspective in Jordanian schools. The study used a descriptive analytical methodology. The
research sample consisted of all schools’ teachers in Amman West Area (in Jordan). The sample size
consisted of 200 teachers selected from different schools from Amman West area in Jordan. A self-
administrated questionnaire was designed according to research objectives and hypotheses and
distributed over research sample subjects. All distributed questionnaire were collected. They were,
coded and analyzed by using SPSS version 18. The research results indicated that school bullying
exists in all schools regardless if they are governmental or private ones. The study also concluded
that school bullying affect student’s academic achievement either victims or the bullies.

 What is the problem?

The research problem is to determine the impact of school bullying on students’ academic
achievement from teachers point of view.

 What is the solution?

Using descriptive analytical methodology, the researchers administered a questionnaire and asked
200 teachers from different schools in Amman west area (in Jordan)

 Was the method effective?

The method used was effective since the study came out with a useful information that teachers
and the school management have to take different measures for the purpose of reducing the bullying
volume. Moreover teachers should coordinate with bully’s students. Teachers and school
management have to set some programs for bullies to mitigate the school bullying.

Summary:

The School Absenteeism among High School Students: Contributing Factors

The aim of this study was to examine the direct and indirect relationship between student
school absenteeism, personal factors (academic self- perception, attitudes towards teacher and school,
goal valuation and motivation/self-regulation), family factors (parents’ educational level and
income), and academic achievement in structural equation model. Four hundred and twenty three
high school students participated in the study. The findings revealed that student absenteeism was
negatively related to academic self-perception, attitudes towards teacher and school, goal valuation,
motivation/ self-regulation, and academic performance. Results also revealed that student
absenteeism differed in respect to parents’ educational level and income. Results from SEM analyses
noticed that personal and family factors significantly predict previous and current student
absenteeism. SEM analyses also revealed that previous student absenteeism significantly predict
previous academic achievement. Finally, SEM analyses noticed that previous student absenteeism
and previous academic achievement can predict current student absenteeism. Contribution and
implications of these findings were discussed in detail.

 Was the method effective?

The method used was effective since this study provided a clear picture about the role of the
variables in students’ absenteeism. Also, it came out with some important findings for both
psychological counselors and educators to develop intervention programs for helping students who
suffer from school absenteeism.

Summary:

Enriching Classrooms with Technology in the Basic Schools

Teachers play a significant role in integrating technology in schools, and motivated teachers reflect
higher levels of technology use in their classroom. Learning students, especially in basic schools,
become a new direction of research. The problem is some education systems for improving teaching
process less use technology in the classes. In this paper, they present role of technology in the
classroom for a learning process. They proposed two classes one of them enriched with technology
another one without technology, after teaching the same subject for both students they take a test.
The result shows that Average of students GPA in classroom technology is 83.3%, but in the
classroom without technology decrease to 60.4%, the result of shows the learning increased 22.9%
by using technology. Besides all students enjoyed in classroom technology and most of them learned
more material with technology. The result of their paper shows that the classroom technology is more
efficient to learn basic school students.

 What is the problem?

Finding the role of technology in enriching classrooms in schools.

 What is the solution?

For finding the role of technology during enriching classroom, they define a scenario then they
make a test, and then give them the questionnaires form. In this scenario they prepared two
group of students for teaching the same subject, the subject is Biology, first group students will
be studied in classic classroom without technology, second group students will be studied in the
classroom with technology. Then they take a test for both groups then they will compare the
marks, then they create a questionnaires form, then they conclude the result of tests and
student answers.

 Was the method effective?

Yes, since in this study they proved that technology has a significant role in classrooms
students enjoyed in classroom technology and most of them learned more about classroom
technology.
