Ms, McKinney demonstartes an understanding of the content area being taught. She uses Investigations and the county
curriculum map in her planning. The LT is posted and instruction supports the learning target. There is use of technology
in whole group instruction. Strategies such as thumbs up thumbs down are used to formatively assess and engage
students in assessing their learning,

Lesson plans are available inthe shared drive and inthe classroom. Learning targets are in the lesson plans. Students
also write the student friendly LT in the math journal. ‘The teacher uses the smart Boar to work examples whole GrOUP
with students as they work in their journals. Lesson plans are explict and include key vocab; closing; specific guiding
questions; and information on stations.

consider equity sticks for use in whole groups seltings. Students do feel comfortable asking questions during whole

‘and guidance as needed. During the lesson, aides provide additional support for studnets with special needs, Teacher
