‘presented at the Town Hall Theatre, Galway, on Feb
ruary 1, 1996, marking the official opening of the
theatre, and subsequently opened at the Royal
‘Court Theatre Upstairs on March 5, 2996 This pro-
duction was frst presented in the United States at
the Atlantic Theatre Co, New York, on February 26,
1998, and subsequently opened at the Walter Kerr
‘Theatre, New York, on Apri 23,1998. The cast was

Iitchen cupboards, a crucfs anda framed picture of Jo

black poker beside the rage, and a touristy Joking em
broideed tote! hanging further along the ack wal,
tearing the inscription “May you be haf am howr in
Henoen afore the Deol knows you're dead’. As the play

Mac: Wet, Maureen?
Maureen: Ofcourse wet.

MAUREEN kes her coat of sighing, and starts puting

Mac: Tean. (Pause) Although lumpy it was, Maureen.
MAUREEN: Well, can Thelp lumpy?
ac: No.
MAUREEN: Write tothe Complan people so, ifit’s lumpy.
Mac (pause): You do make me Complan nice and smooth.
