Read the passage and choose the best answer for each question.
If parents bring up a child with the sole aim of turning the child into genuis, they will cause a disaster.

parents make. Generally, the child will be only too aware of what his parents expect, and will fail. Unrealistic
parental expectations can cause great damage to children.
However, if parents are not too unrealistic about what they expect their children to do, but are ambitious in a
sensible way, the child may succeed in doing very well-especially if the parents are very supportive of their child.

Part 2: Paragraph writing: write a paragraph about measures for protecting endangered animals.
Sample writing:
Nowadays a number of animals are on the verge of extinction because of human beings’
interference. Therefore, measures should be taken to protect endangered animals. Firstly, it is vital to raise
people’s awareness about the importance of animals and ecosystem. Conference, forum and seminars and
the like about the roles of animals in biodiversity should be regularly organized because a lot of people do
not know much about the need to protect rare animals. Moreover, the national curriculum should include
the subject about how to protect the enviroment so that children will be aware of saving wild animals still
young. Secondly, each nation should enforce strict laws to prevent people from poaching and hunting
animals illegally. People should be discouraged from buying and using fashionable wildlife products. In
addition, illegal traders must be financially punished or put into prison, depending on the extent of their
commitment. Last not least, wildlife habitat reserves should be established in all nations all over the world

in order that endangered animals have chances to survive and perish well. In conclusion, protecting
endangered animals is not only the task of one person but also the task of all people in the world.
