CHAPTER 1

THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND

This chapter presents the Introduction, Conceptual Framework, Statement

of the Problem, Scope and Limitation, Significance of the Study and Definition of
terms.

Introduction

According to the Department of Education (DepEd) Order No. 30 s. 2017,

one of the purposes of the K to 12 Basic Education program is to expand the
skills, work ethics, and values of student in learning and employment. To
accomplish this target, Work Immersion is designated as a required subject in
Senior High School.

Work Immersion refers to the part of the Senior High School (SHS)
Curriculum consisting of 80 hours of hands-on experience or work simulation
which the Grade 12 students will undergo to expose them to the actual workplace
setting and to enrich the competencies provided by the school under the
supervision of the School Head and the designated personnel of the Partner.

The said learning experience that the students can get from it will surely
enable and help students as they familiarize themselves with the workplace
simulation and apply their competencies in their particular areas. The completion
of work immersion is a prerequisite to graduation under the K-12 program. It aims
to hone globally competitive citizens, with its specialized curriculum, gearing
Filipino students for further studies, employment or entrepreneurship. Experience
is considered to be one of life’s greatest teachers. As trainees, students can use
it as a motivation as they gain expertise in our respective fields. This experience
will surely help them not only for their life as students but also their future job as
professional employees of the country.

learning experiences in terms of Professionalism, Time Management and
Human-Relation skills.
Statement of the Problem

1. What are the learning experiences of the students in terms of:

a. Professionalism

b. Time Management

c. Human-Relation Skill

2. What is the benefit of these experiences in their life as students?

3. What piece of advice can they give to the next generations of students who will
be doing the Work Immersion Program in the near future?

Scope and Limitations

This research includes the experiences of ABM Grade 12 at San Jose

Litex Senior High school who have undergone on Work Immersion.

This research aims to get respondents from ABM Grade 12 at the San
Jose Litex Senior High School who conducted Work Immersion. Researchers
wanted 15 respondents to become a bridge to carry out research by intending to
study them. Sampling to be used is convenience sampling.

Significance of the Study

This research seeks to address the goals and intentions of the following:

To students, this research will serve as a preview on what will they

experience or learn in the Work Immersion Program.

To teachers, it will help them to guide and prepare the next generation
students on the right attitude and work ethics that should be utilized during the
Work Immersion Program.
To parents, it will help them guide their children when it comes to things
that is significant in both studying and working such as time management, ethics
and a lot more.

To future researchers, this study would help them to be aware and
