REFLECTION PAPER

The following are the requirements for reflection papers:

1. A brief summary of the reading in your own words

2. Main argument of the author

3. Do you agree or disagree with the argument? Why? Provide examples.

4. Question raised by you in terms of a given topic

5. Conclusion

Your paper should include, but not be limited to, the following questions:

• What is the main question/idea/issue of the article?

• How can you link the text with the sociological theory(ies) discussed in class? Use examples from
the article to explain the theory or theoretical perspectives.

• If there are different points of views, discuss what they are. What is the message or point that
the author is trying to make? Is it clear?

• How is this video relevant to society where you grew up?

You will be asked to complete one reflection paper (1000 words). The purpose of these papers is to give
you a chance to strengthen your writing and analytical skills.
