Abstract

The US is an important context to study the interaction between social, psychological

and political aspects and the attitudes and behaviors concerning to climate change
because of its influence in the topic around the world. In the article, the authors try to
understand the motivational basis of the denial of the climate change on the part of
the institutional forces like a corporate strategy and psychological factors, like ego
and group and system justification. In addition, the authors review the literature about
the divide between liberal and conservatives thoughts, communicate and action
respecting climate change.

Introduction

1. The intention of the authors in the introduction is to try to show the real problem around the
climate change. They identify certain actors and their responsibilities in the issue and add that if
we want to make a reduction of greenhouse effect, we have to assume seriously sacrifices.
According the authors the scientific community think that no matter how much we try to remedy
our climatic situation because there are too big obstacles just like the intergenerational nature of
climate change policy.

2. The lack of mindfilness on the society regarding the level for carbon dioxide emissions and
the blackwash. The skepticism of american people for the climate change, the political and
social consequences generate a needed to political measures for the ambient preservation.

3. In the third paragraph, the authors shows a duality between two political prospects.
