HOW TO PLAY:

•  Everyone gets a nucleotide card (A/U OR C/G). Recall that these are your RNA bases.
One side of the card will have one base, the other side will have its complement
•  I will call out an two amino acids for which I want you to form a codon (pick one)
•  You will have 10 seconds to find 2 partners with whom to form your codon.
•  If you have a group coding for one of the amino acids when the 10 seconds are up, you
get a point.
•  If you don’t have a group coding for the amino acid when the 10 seconds are up, you
get no points.
•  Keep track of your own individual points.
•  Questions about protein synthesis may be asked throughout the game for BONUS
POINTS!
•  REMEMBER: A codon is a unit of 3 nucleotides in a specific arrangement to code for
an amino acid
•  REMEMBER: There are multiple codons per amino acid, so choose your group wisely.
