Water Pollution

Earth is made up of more or less 75% of its appearance. It is larger than the space covered

by land. Due to its largeness, pollution is inevitable. On this paper, I will discuss the definition of

water pollution and its cause and effect.

Water pollution, as eloquently stated by www.solarimpulse.com, is defined as the

contamination of a stream, river, lake, ocean or any other stretch of water, depleting water quality

and making it toxic for the environment and humans. It was mainly caused by human’s wrong

activity towards any water bodies.

There are two sources of water pollution: point and non-point source. Point source came

from humans that do not throw pollutants directly to water but through pipelines under the

ground which the factories are doing. On the other hand, non-point sources are sources that

cannot be located since it is not using any pipeline or sewers. It may be naturally occurring.

However, there are several ways on how to prevent water pollution. It can start to

ourselves by taking care of any body of water. Minimize the deposits of pollutants to the water

and maintaining its cleanliness.

If we ever had a clean and pure water, we can live in a world where we can gain healthy

and peaceful living since we do not have to worry about the water.
