Event 1: Vibrato – Western Solo

Date: 10th March, 2019

Event Description:
Ever wondered how to unleash the Stevie Wonder in you? Who knows?! You could possibly
have Taylor Swift’s timbre. Well, here’s your forte.

Rules and Regulations:


 All performances must be in English. Usage of any other languages can lead to
disqualification.
 Time limit for each performance (including set up) is 3 minutes.
 Each participant MUST have a college id for verification during Milan Id registration.
 A single accompanist or a karaoke (backing track without vocals) will be allowed.
 The decision of the judges will be final.

Event 2: Alankar – Eastern/Classical/Regional Solo

Date: 7th March, 2019

Event Description:
This one is for the desi lovers. Exactly locating the mid-grounds between core art forms, as
the name happens to be self-explanatory; ‘Light’ music. You could sing what your heart says
and still sound enigmatic!

Rules and Regulations:


 All performances must be in Indian languages (Hindi/Tamil/Telugu/Kannada/others)
only.
 Time limit for each performance (including set up) is 3 minutes.
 Only Indian classical i.e. Hindustani and Carnatic Classical forms are allowed.
 Each participant MUST have a college ID for verification during Milan ID
registration.
 A backing track (karaoke) or an accompanist will be allowed.
 The decision of the judges will be final.

Event 3: Acapella

Date: 07th March, 2019

Rules and Regulations:


 Team size – Minimum: 3 and Maximum: 8 members
 No backing tracks or instruments allowed.
 Team may have singers/beatboxers/ rappers, etc. in any number within the team size
limit.
 Time limit including setup is 7 minutes.
 Each participant MUST have a college id for verification during Milan Id registration.
 The decision of the judges will be final.

Event 4: Symphony – Instrumental Solo

Date: 09th March, 2019

Event Description:

 No instrument will be provided by the college.

Event 5: Euphony – Instrumental Trio

Date: 09th March, 2019

Event Description:
Years of blood and sweat! Showcase your skills this is the best chance you’ll get!!

Rules and Regulations:


 Time limit: 15 minutes (including setup time)
 Bands must consist not more or less than 3 members. Only 3 members are allowed.
 No loop or backing track is allowed.
 No instrument will be provided by the college. (Drums and amplifiers will be
provided)
 All participants must carry their college ids for Milan id registration.
 The decisions of the judges will be final.

Event 6: Fuzon – Eastern & Western Fusion

Date: 07th March, 2019

Event Description:
The fusion between two vocal chords. No more; no less. Only difference being that each has
to sing in a different language (can be any 2 different languages)

Rules and Regulations:


 Time limit: 5 minutes
 A single accompanist or backing track is allowed.
 Duet could be between any 2 eastern/western vocalists or 1 eastern and 1 western
vocalist.
 All participants must carry their college ids for Milan id registration.
 The decisions of the judges will be final.

Event 7: Resonance – Battle of Bands (Western)

Date: 09th March, 2019

Event Description:
While it seems like a battle among various bands, it is a war among the notes, rage of the
rhythm and a clash of the octaves! Every single band is a beautiful battle per se, ain’t it?

Rules and Regulations:


 A minimum of 3 and Maximum of 10 participants are allowed.
 This is a Western Band competition for college bands only.
 Use of any language apart from English will lead to disqualification.
 Every participant MUST carry a valid college id for Milan id registration.
 Backing tracks or loopers are not permitted.
 Original compositions will be given more weightage. However, the final decision
regarding the same will be taken by the judges.
 Time limit including set up: 15 minutes.

Event 8: Tarang – Battle of Bands (Eastern)

Date: 07th March, 2019

Event Description:
While it seems like a battle among various bands, it is a war among the notes, rage of the

 A minimum of 3 and Maximum of 10 participants are allowed.
 This is an Eastern Band competition for college bands only.
 Performances should be in any of the Indian languages.
 Every band member MUST carry their college id for Milan ID registration.
 Backing tracks and loopers are not permitted.
 Participants are requested to get their own instruments. A standard drum kit,
amplifiers and microphones will be provided at the venue.
 Original compositions will be given more weightage than cover songs. However, the
final decision regarding the same will be taken by the judges
 Time limit including the set up: 15 minutes.
 The decision of the judges will be final.

Event 9: Beatdrop – Beatbox Battle

Date: 08th March, 2019

Event Description:
Each battle should consist of 2 rounds each with every participant getting 1 min per round to
do his or her beat.

Rules and Regulations


 No instruments are permitted.
 A maximum of 3 min is allowed.
 One accompanist is allowed.
 No recorded tracks.
 Do not bite (copy) someone else’s work. New/fresh stuff is more than welcome.
 Competitors should not perform beat box routines as already performed in public by
other beat boxers, to the best of their knowledge. Intellectual property rights must be
respected.
 Judges decision is final. In terms of a tiebreaker, an additional round will be given for
the competitors.

Event 10: Wrap It Up – Rap Battle

Date: 08th March, 2019

Event Description:
Each battle should consist of 2 rounds each with every participant getting 1 min per round to
do his or her beat.

 One accompanist is allowed.
 No recorded tracks.

Event 11: Battle of DJs

Date: 08th March, 2019

Event Description:
DJs from across the country compete at the mainstage. Two DJs take on each other head-to-
head at a time where each of them gets a limited amount of time to showcase their skills. The
performances would be judged by a panel of judges on the basis of creativity, track selection,
techniques and crowds response.

Rules and Regulations:


 A time limit of 5 minutes fixed per set, although there is no limit on the number of
tracks that can be used.
 After the set, judges will score the participants on a scale of 1-10.
 Top two highest scores will compete in the final round.
 The top two DJs will have 10 minutes to impress the judges and the crowd.
 Final results will be decided based on the judges’ scoring and the crowd’s response.

Event 12: 60 Minutes to Win It

Date: 07th March, 2019

Event Description:
This one is for the avid music producers out there. Based on a bunch of samples given on the
spot, the producer must create a drop within 60 minutes. Open to use any DAW. The person
who ends up with the most creative drop wins it all!

Rules and Regulations:


 No samples other than those given on the spot would be allowed to be used.
 Judges would be constantly monitoring the sessions in order to prevent any
malpractice.
 Judging will be based on several criteria which include creativity, skills, methods
used.
 Laptops and other required equipment are to be brought by each participant.
 Participants are allowed to use any music production software (DAW) that they are
comfortable with.

DANCE

Event 1: Swag It Off – Western Solo (College Level)

Date: 07th March, 2019

Time Limit: 3 to 5 Minutes

Rules and Regulations:


 Presenting a student ID card of your current institution is mandatory for participation.
 Obscenity and vulgarity of any kind will lead to disqualification.
 Participants must carry the audio track in a pen-drive. The pen-drive must bear the
name of the individual and name of his/her college.
 Participants should carry a backup of their tracks.
 Usage of props is allowed. Any kind of fluid, flame, powders, glitters, heavy or sharp
objects or any material which has possibility of tampering/damaging the stage is
STRICTLY not allowed.
 The decision of the judges shall be final and binding.

Event 2: Like A Pro – Western Solo + (Professional Level)

Time Limit: 3 to 5 Minutes

Event 3: Nrityanjali – Classical Solo (College Level)

Time Limit: 3 to 5 Minutes

Themes:
 Rivers of India
 Colours (any number of colours can be depicted)
 Five elements of nature (Jal-Vayu-Bhumi-Aakash-Agni)
 Temples of India (any temple and presiding deity)

Rules and Regulations:


 Presenting a student ID card of your current institution is mandatory for participation.
 The songs should be strictly classical. Film songs are not allowed.
 Obscenity and vulgarity of any kind will lead to disqualification.
 Participants must carry the audio track in a pen-drive. The pen-drive must bear the
name of the individual and name of his/her college.
 Participants should carry a backup of their tracks.
 Usage of props is allowed. Any kind of fluid, flame, powders, glitters, heavy or sharp

Event 4: Kill the Beat – Dance Battle (College Level)

Team Size: 4 to 6 Participants

Category: Crew v/s Crew Hip Hop All Style Battle

Rules and Regulation:


 The battle round shall consist of 2 rounds.
 In each round a member from each team or number of members from a team shall
enter the battle area and perform their set or throw down (solo or routines) for a fixed
period of time. Once their time is over they will be informed to move from the battle
area and let their opponents to enter the battle and perform their set.
 The decision of the judges will be final and binding.

Event 5: Double Trouble - Dual Dance Competition

MOVIES AND DRAMATICS

Event 1: Nukkad Natak

Date: 09th March, 2019

Event Description:
Get ready with your dhol and tell your message to the whole crowd.
"aao aao natak dikhao"
Nukkad Nataks (street plays) are supposedly the oldest forms of theatre and also a strong
medium for mass communication; a means to spread awareness about social issues to live
audiences and gather their instant reactions

Rules and Regulations:


 Maximum number of teams per University/College- 2.
 Maximum number of participants per team- 20.
 The time limit is 25 minutes including setup time.
 Uniform Dressing has to be maintained throughout the act.
 The use of Props and makeup is allowed.
 The use of pre-recorded music is prohibited.
 The use of harmful materials such as fire etc. is prohibited.
 The use of foul language and offensive words is prohibited.
 The act can be in English, Tamil or Hindi or a mix of the three.
 The teams have to adhere to the time limit and rules or else there will be
negative marking.
 The decision of the judges will be final and no appeals will be entertained.

Event 2: Centre Stage:

Date: 08th March, 2019

Event Description:
Taking on characters that are complex and deliver tough lines is nothing but a piece of cake
for the typical theatre artist. And here’s the opportunity for your team to come up with a
captivating performance, in one of the biggest events ever!

Rules and Regulations:


 Duration: 30-50 minutes (3 minutes for stage set up)
 Maximum members per team: 7 (participants) 2 (production team)
 One team per college.
 One winner and one runner up
 Scripts should not have any form of vulgarity
 Should not exceed specified time limit (which also includes time specified for
stage set up).
 Only one team can represent their college for this event.
 Props offered: 2 tables and 5 chairs.
 Any other arrangements required must be intimated as soon as registration is
completed, and at least 1 week before the event.

Event 3: Can You Act

Date: 08th March, 2019

Event Description:
Are emotions your best friend? Is spinning tales out of thin air your favorite hobby? You
have seven minutes with you. From our array of choices, you pick a gender, an emotion, a
prop and a storyline, and you make your story and act it out.

Rules and Regulations:


 Preparation time after picking the lots: 3 minutes and should not be exceeded.
 It’s an individual performance and you cannot involve another person in your story by
asking them to share the stage with you.
 You cannot exceed performance time of 4 minutes.
 No vulgarity will be accepted.
 A second choice in picking chits will not be allowed.
 Should not exceed time limit.

Event 4: Spotlight (Mono-Acting)

Date: 08th March, 2019

Event Description:
If you have the charm and charisma to keep the eyes of the audience all to yourself, then this
event is made just for you.
Round 1:
In this round, participants will be expected to prepare a performance for 4 - 7 minutes
on a topic of their choice.
Round 2:
The topic/premise will be provided on the spot and one will be allowed to perform for
a maximum time of 7 minutes.
The participant will be given the topic, before the performance of the preceding
participant.

Rules and Regulations:


 No profanity or vulgarity should be there in the performance.
 Multiple entries from a college are allowed
 One can perform in Hindi, English or Tamil
 The decision of the judges will be final and binding.

Event 5: Short Film

Date: 07th March, 2019

Event Description:
One of the biggest short film competition in SRM IST!

Rules and Regulations:


 A copy of college ID of the participants should be sent to us when posting your film.
 The short films should be compatible in VLC player.
 All short films in languages other than English should have sub-titles.
 The short film should not exceed 10 – 12 minutes
 Copies of the film should be sent on or before 05th March, 2019
 Any genre of short film is welcome
 Any short film showcasing vulgarity will be rejected.
 At the time of screening, all members from the team should be compulsorily present.
 There is no limit to the number of members per team
 Multiple entries are not allowed.
 The judges’ decision will be final and biding.
 There will be only 1 round.

Event 6: Variety Show

Date: 10th March, 2019

Rules and Regulations:


 Any no. of teams per college is allowed but one person can register only for one team.
 Usage of any kind of props in not allowed.
 The time limit is-
Minimum – 10 minutes
Maximum – 15minutes
 A maximum of 10 people per team is allowed.
 The use of fire and other harmful materials is strictly prohibited.
 Usage of music is allowed however it should have no words whatsoever.
 No kind of verbal hint is allowed throughout the performance.
 Maximum time for each team is 10 minutes from empty stage to empty stage.

FASHION

Event 1: Ramp Walk

Rules and Regulations


 Each team can have a maximum of 15 participants (excluding the helpers. Each team
is allotted 15 minutes from the time they enter till they leave the stage (team would be
given negative marks if they exceed the time limit)
 Each member of the team should strictly follow the theme
 Use of accessories is encouraged unless it could damage the stage
 No form of vulgarity would be tolerated
 Music tracks should be submitted 2 hours prior to the show
 Possession of college ID card is a must by every member of the team

Event 2: Designer Round (Theme- Eco-Friendly)

Rules and Regulations


 Each team can have a maximum of 3 participants
 Each team will be allotted maximum of 4 minutes to showcase their costume
(including the speaker if necessary)
 The costume should be creative and eco-friendly
 No form of vulgarity would be tolerated

Event 3: Mr. & Ms. MILAN

Rules and Regulations


Anyone can participate in this round. There would be a total of 3 rounds
Round 1
 Participants have to ramp walk on the stage for 30 seconds to show their
personality and stage presence
 Those who qualify Round 1 must show up for Round 2
Round 2
 Participants would have to model for a product for 30 seconds. They can give
as many poses as they want in that duration
 The product for which they would be modeling would be decided by picking
chits, just before they enter the stage
 They would be judged on the ability to pose with the product and their presence
of mind
 Those who qualify Round 2 must show up for Round 3
Round 3
 This is a talent round where the participants have to showcase their talent on
the stage for 1 min
 This will be followed by interactive questioning round where the participant
will have to answer the question asked by the judges

General Rules:
 The participants should bring their own audio track to be played. Other specific
requirements for this round like musical instruments etc. should be brought by the
participant
 Decision of the judges would be final.
 Every member of the team should possess the college ID card at the time of
registration before every event
 The colleges must report 2 hours prior to the show for slot picking
 Sound tracks should be submitted at the time of slot picking
 Green room will be available behind the stage

LITERARY
Event 1: British Parliamentary Debate:

Date: 08th March, 2019

Rules and Regulations:


 Two speakers represent each of the four teams and will have to give a speech of seven
and four minutes respectively.
 The theme for the topics will be either socio-economic issues or issues regarding
fundamental rights and their scope.
 Two topics will be given prior to the date of the event. One will be chosen on the day
of the event and the proponent and opponent will be given 20 minutes before the
event to each team.
 The following chart describes the basic format and time limits.

Event 2: Policy Debate

Date: 07th March, 2019

Event Description:
Policy debate involves the proposal of a plan by the affirmative team to enact a policy, while
the negative team offers reasons to reject that proposal with a policy of their own.
Throughout the debate, students have the opportunity to cross-examine one another. A judge
or panel of judges determines the winner based on the arguments presented.

Rules and Regulations:


 Each team will consist of two members
 Each team will have to inform about their policy to the opposing team and to the
judge 3 minutes before the debate.
 The total debate will be of 5 minutes. It will be spontaneous i.e. no member should
wait for their chance to speak

Event 3: Shipwreck

Date: 08th March, 2019

Rules and Regulation:


 In this event two participants would be competing against each other on the stage.
 Each of them would be given a fictitious or real-world character which they would have
to role play. The condition would be that both of them are on a ship which is drowning.
The judge will be acting as the captain of the ship and he has only one person’s space
left on the backup boat with him. The two participants will have to convince the captain
to give that space to the character they are role playing.
 The characters of the participants which they should choose to accept will be given to
them on spot by the judge.
 After 30 seconds of allotting the characters they will have to start speaking.
 The time period for them would be 4 minutes. They can use props in their respective
speeches too.

Event 4: JAM

Date: 09th March, 2019

Event Description:
Just-A-Minute (or JAM) is an all-round-fun event that is all about the control of the mind
over the mouth. You have to make it through sixty seconds of non-stop talking without
hesitation, repetition, or deviation.

Rules and Regulation:


 It is an individual event
 To object, slam the table and say JAM. The JAM master decides when you are
allowed to put forth your objection on.
 Penalties will be marked if the participant
1. You object out of turn
2. You stutter, stammer, and generally indulge in “time-wasting tactics”. These
include efforts to buy time like interspersing your talk with “uhm”, “aah” etc...
3. Early start and late start
4. Speaking too fast or too slow
5. Grammatical errors
6. Undue stress on words, undue emphasis in the sentences
7. Repetition of a previously used idea
8. The total time is sixty seconds, inclusive of all the time that all the speakers in
a given round are allowed to speak
 The JAM master decision is final

Event 5: Tuning to Tagore (Slam Poetry)

Rules and Regulation:


 It is an individual participation.

Event 1: Boxing

Number of Rounds: Three rounds of three minutes, 1 minute rest between each rounds.

Rules and Regulations:


 Boxers who registered their academic in any Indian University or colleges are eligible
to participate in the competition.
 In General weigh-in and medical examination of all boxers will be held at SRM
BOYS GYM from 10 AM to 12 AM on 6th March 2019 and on subsequent days for
those boxers who are drawn to Box.
 The team/officials, shall not arrive at the venue earlier than 5th March and shall leave
by 8th March 2019.
 Accommodation will be provided for all the participants with a minimum of cost.

Event 5: Clash Royale

Team Size: 1 Participant

General Rules:
This will follow simple tournament rules as available with Clash Royale. The tournament will
be created under the game norms and the players will have 2 hours for warm up and then 1
hour of gameplay, at the end of which the top 2 will emerge victorious as winner and runner
up.

Event 6: BLUR

Team Size: 1 Participant

General Rules:
This will be an individual event with 4 people playing against each other at a time. The
winner of each race will move forward to the next round and so on. The finals will have 4
people playing against each other and the winner of the race will win the tournament.

General Rules:
 This will be a squad mode game in a room with 100 players.
