Engr. John Paul B. Mendoza
In this classwork, I analyzed the internal forces of a simply supported beam subjected to a concentrated load at its center. I calculated the shear force and bending moment diagrams by taking the increments and decrements of the loads. From the diagrams, I determined the maximum and minimum values of shear force and bending moment. I also identified the sign convention used and the locations of the points of contraflexure. Overall, I was able to apply the concepts I learned from our lectures and readings in analyzing the internal forces of beams.
