THE GOVERNMENT AND PEOPLE’S ROLES IN CYBERSECURITY ​ 1

Abstract

Exploring the government's roles in people's cybersecurity in this digital age of the world is

important. It is necessary to inform people about what needs to be done for the worldwide

protection of data, and what people can do every day to protect their personal devices. In this

digital age, life is made easy by technology, therefore making it harder to protect personal data

from hackers that want to use that personal data against them. Thus this means the government

needs to be the world leader on new cybersecurity systems and programs. It needs to continue

the campaign to inform the American public on safe online tactics and tips. Cybersecurity is

national security meaning that more government funds need to be put into it to secure Americans

digital infrastructure. This research is important because the protection of a person's data is vital

as everything becomes digital and in the years to come everything that can become digital will

become digital. People also have become lax in protecting their own data, therefore people need

to not just know the risks, but understand them and implement safeguards for the future of online

security
