My Thoughts on…

Longevity
Yesterday I read an article on BBC News on
Okinawan diet. Okinawa is an island in Japan,
famous for...old people living a very long
life...yup,over 100 years. Spoiler, no need to alert,
the secret of those folks is a high-carb diet. In
more plainer words, sweet potatoes. It is an well-
known elixir for youth and good health. The
moment I read it. My brain went like...no way
that I am going to eat sweet potatoes like I am
not going to fart like a leaking balloon. Then I
asked myself why I need to live to be a 100 years
old. I am never a super health body. If I was
cursed, I got to live to be that old. I know what
organ will give up on my first. You guess it right,
my brain. If not, I will make sure my brain will
die of farts. That means I am going to eat sweet
potatoes every meal for the rest of my life. Aging
sucks. Being very very old...no thanks. Yesterday
I was shopping at a Chinese grocery store. There
were a couple of old people in front of me at the
door. They moved very slowly. I wouldn't blame
them. It was snowy and freezing cold. It is not
fun when you have poor eyesight and your
footing is a joke. Right there at the moment,
when I saw the old folks wobbling, my brain said,
"Nope. Kill me before I can only wobble around".
I bet till that point long longevity is not going to
be a practical wish. A good balance is the number
one priority.
