Economic Responsibilities

In 2016, Focus Point had opened 21 new outlets which included 13 outlets and 8
whoosh. But 17 outlets of Focus Point had strengthen because of their under-
performing. Besides that, Focus Point had a total number of 71 franchise outlets.
Focus Point now had started to date built total number of 114 own outlets which also
including 96 Focus Point outlets and 18 Whoosh outlets.
Focus Point joined force with Focus Point Caring Hearts Charity Foundation and
National Blood Bank Malaysia to organise blood donation. The users who
participated in this event were the staff of Focus Point and their customers. At last,
they had collected total of 68 pints of blood.

Focus Point also try to continue to improve their staff`s workforce. They had done
many things that can enhance their optometrists and opticians, management team and
operational staff knowledge and skills. They had organized some training like
Professional Selling Skills Training, Oculus RGP Lens Training and Briefing, Trainee
Manager Program and more.

Philanthropic Responsibilities
During the celebration of Christmas festival, Focus Point Caring Hearts Foundation
had go and visited the TI- Ratana Welfare Society Malaysia (the “Home”). Focus
Point also had donated the amount of RM5000 to Home. Besides that, Focus Point
also providing gifts and foods to Home which worth RM5000. Besides that, during
2012, a part of Group`s corporate social responsibility had provided free eye
screening to the school. In that year also, The Group had visited 10 schools and more
than 24000 students screened. The Group also had sponsored eyewear to those
students who needed.
Unique Products
Focus Point had made different type of their products. Of course, different type of
products had different type of material or resources to build up the products. For
example the BOSS Man spectacles, the resources that Focus Point used were
innovative materials. To build up this spectacle, Focus Point had used some modern
material which is metal, flexible carbon fiber and rubber to create a sophisticated,
minimalistic profile with a visible double carbon fiber and soft rubber inserts at the
temples.

Besides that, Marc Jacobs ad gave Focus Point a glimpse of future things as an
Eyewear Collection with come with Spring/ Summer 2016. These spectacles name all
start with MARC. The materials and resources that they used were innovative double-
wire metal structure outlining the lenses. This can enable the wearers the floating
impression.
Core Competences
At first, Focus Point was nothing more than a small counter in a shopping centre at
Muar, Johor. After few years later, they set up an head office to provide and support
them management and operational support in Johor After that an opportunities had
arrived, that was to make a decision about to work out a franchise programme. In 7
years, Focus Point had successfully launched more than 70 franchise outlets in
Malaysia and Brunei. Not that only, the franchisees of Focus Point also had owned 25%
of multiple units of franchise outlet. Focus Point had provided some supports for their
franchise such as site selection and design, operation manual, advertising and
promotion and more. Franchise had helped Focus Point strengthen up their company
as well.
