Generalidades El espesor del pavimento se define siguiendo las indicaciones de los Términos de Referencia mediante la aplicacion de los Métodos de Disefo siguientes: AASHTO, ASPHALT INSTITUTE, TRRL, USACE. Los céleulos se realizaron para dos altemativas: carpeta asfaltica para un periodo de disefio de 10 afios, 20 alos y refuerzo a los 10 affos para un periodo de disefio adicional hasta 20 afios. Alternativa |: Carretera Asfaltada a Nivel de Carpeta Asfaltica 2.4 Método AASHTO (1993) EI disefio del pavimento, utiizando el Método AASHTO, version 1993 (GUIDE FOR DESIGN OF PAVEMENT STRUCTURE 1993).basado en AASHTO Road Test, consiste en determinar el Nimero Estructural (SN) en funcién de! Médulo Resiliente de la subrasante (M.), nlimero de ejes standard anticipado (N), Confiabilidad (R%), Desviacién Standard total (So), pérdida de serviciabilidad (A PSI) e indices estructurales del pavimento, Los valores de! nimero estructural se determinan mediante la aplicacién de la ecuacién de disefio indicada en la Fig. 3.1 del método de disefio.
