Education For All (EFA) is a global movement led by UNESCO (United Nation

Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization), aiming to meet the learning needs of
all children, youth and adults by 2015.[1]
The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO;[2is
a specialized agency of the United Nations (UN) based in Paris.
The Global Education Monitoring Report Its mandate is to monitor progress
towards the education targets in the new Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
framework.
The Department of Education (abbreviated as DepEd; Filipino: Kagawaran ng
Edukasyon) is the executive department of the Philippine government responsible for
ensuring access to, promoting equity in, and improving the quality of basic education.
The sustainable development goals (SDGs) are a new, universal set of goals, targets
and indicators that UN member states will be expected to use to frame their agendas
and political policies over the next 15 years.
Formal education is classroom-based, provided by trained teachers.

Expert Mechanism on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples The Expert Mechanism


provides the Human Rights Council with expertise and advice on the rights of
indigenous peoples as set out in the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of
Indigenous Peoples, and assists Member States, upon request, in achieving the ends of
the Declaration through the promotion, protection and fulfilment of the rights of
indigenous peoples.

Indigenous Knowledge Systems and Practices (IKSPs) are local knowledge


developed over centuries of experimentation by our ancestors and are passed orally
from generation to generation.
