Universal Design for Learning (UDL):

Engagement: Students are required to create their own video about the distributive property. The students
will be broken up into pairs. Each student will participate in the creation of the video.
Representation: Students will create a video describing the distributive property and how it works. The video
will include a title page, one still image, one short clip, and a credit page.
Action and Expression: The video must have an audio recording of them speaking over the still images.

Lesson idea implementation:

I will begin the lesson by explaining the distributive property. I will show the students several examples of the
distributive property being used. Then I will display my video for the class. After the video, I will pass a rubric,
a check list and directions of how to create the video using Adobe Spark. Students will get into pairs and begin
working on their assignment.

Importance of technology:
The importance of this software is to allow students to create and be creative using the video. This allows the
teacher to see the different perspectives the students have on the video clips.

Internet Safety and Student Privacy:

Students are at risk of internet safety by allowing them to create a video. Students will understand the
copyright issue and that they must cite all of their work.

Reflective Practice:
Students are creating their own work and are a part of their own work by using including their own voice in the video.
This video project is used to reinforce what they have learned.
