SAP Solution Manager 7.2 is not a Dual Stack anymore

SAP Solution Manager 7.2 is based on SAP Netweaver 7.4, which supports no dual-stack systems.
As a consequence, your existing SAP Solution Manager system has to be split!

• Interface & Connection Monitoring


• Navigation within the application is changed è User interface is now divided in the pages Overview,
Monitoring, Analytics and Web Services
• From Topology View (part of the Monitoring Overview) you can drill in a selected interface channel
• Scope Selection is improved è Include or exclude keywords to search for IC Mon scenarios
• Within Solution Manager Configuration in the Monitoring and Alerting step, you can now configure the
severity of the alerts for an interface
• Monitoring of additional metrics is provided: STAD records for ABAP based Web services and last
folder update for flat files
• Monitoring of following integration scenarios is provided: SAP Application Interface Framework, SAP
Information Lifecycle Management and Ariba Network

• Process Integration Monitoring

• Scope selector filter for views is provided è For each view of a custom page, you can set filters to
specify the relevant systems. The filter settings are saved and can be shared with other views.
• Date selection for Overview page è Default for service reporting (last three months) can be changed
by choosing the date selection icon and using the filters to select a new time range

• Guided Procedures
• Within SAP Solution Manager Launchpad Guided Procedures is now available with new tiles:
• Guided Procedure Catalog tile shows the number of active GP’s to be accessed by GP browser
• Guided Procedure Usage tile shows number of executed GP instances to access GP Execution Logs
• From SAP Help Guided Procedures tile, you can open application help (overview of GP authoring)
• From Guided Procedure Authoring – How-To-Guide tile, you can open the how-to-guide GP authoring
• Within Guided Procedures Catalog and Guided Procedure Usage you can select systems and hosts
via Scope Selector:
• In the editors of both GP applications, you can preview the current GP version by selecting a system
• You can also filter and select an ABAP client
• Create New Activity view has been enhanced (add and remove links, improved handling of text)
• UI5 Document Editor has been enhanced to support accessibility (text to speech, keyboard navigation)
• The GP browser has been enhanced as follows:
• The free-text search has been extended above all existing columns
• In the Last Executed column, you can see the last execution date of a GP instance
• You can create steps and sub steps by referencing existing ones within the same application area

• Enhanced Trace Analysis with SAP Cloud Platform support è You can now use the E2E trace
analysis for custom applications on SAP Cloud Platform

• Guided Procedures
• You can log on to and log off from guided procedures, for example to log on with another user
• In a log comment, you can now enter a formatted text. You can also upload an image, for example a
screenshot. You can then access this image choosing the link in the Display area of the Log screen area
• You can enable the user to navigate to the next step, even if in the previous step all mandatory
activities haven't been executed successfully
• Additional chart types are supported, for example heat map charts, bubble charts, and waterfall
charts. You can now attach more than one charts to any kind of guided procedure activity.
• With admin role, you can lock a specific guided procedure execution instance in the Complete step.
You can also overwrite the execution status, if needed. By locking you prevent a specific instance to be
executed and the execution data cannot be changed (guided procedure report remains unchanged)
• If such an instance contains IT tasks, these will be automatically set to completed
• You can unlock a locked guided procedure execution instance in the log book
