Summative Citizenship Reflection

Reflect on your four years of community service. In a thoughtful paragraph, discuss what you
did, what you learned about yourself, the value of community service, future careers or interests,
collaboration, workplace environments, Cloverdale, Sonoma County, and/or how the experience
of community service has impacted you.

This year for community service I help with the High School Drama Department with the
fall play. Mr. Dobbins gave me jobs to help lift and move objects such as chairs, boxes and
making the sound effects for the play. What I learned about myself is that I enjoyed
helping making the drama kids life easier. I also made tons of friends from doing
community service. I continue throughout the next semester during 7th period, helping and
hanging out with the drama class. I learned all the hard work that goes into creating and
putting together a play to entertain others from their talent. I will alway remember how my
task made a big impact on the community. I’ve notice that none of the other school require
community service for school. I believe that other schools should be encouraging their
students to help out with their community more.

Have you registered to vote? Why or why not?

I did registered to vote last semester. I believe voting is very important because it is how
you can use your voice for where you stand. There are people out there that can’t vote for
certain reasons. If you can vote, then you should do so! Every vote counts. Your voice will
be heard.

What are some ways that you plan to be an active citizen of this town, state, and/or country in
your adult life?
I plan to do what I can to help my neighbors and my community. I’m not quite sure what it
will be and where I will be. What I do know is that I love to help others that need a helping
hand. You can make friends and learn things just by participating.
