BLOCK DIAGRAM
POWER SECTION:
• Module: Battery
• Battery used: Lithium ion
• Description: These batteries are rechargeable and lightweight, making them ideal to be used in
wearables. Power numbers are to be calculated based on the specifications of the components
decided to be used before choosing the capacity.
• Functional Purpose: Used to supply the wearable device when not in power. With this existing
architecture, can supply the entire device for about 7 Days.

• Module: PMIC
• Part Number: MAX14676D
• Description: Battery-charge-management solutions ideal for low-power wearable applications. These
devices include a linear battery-charger with a Smart Power Selector, Model Gauge fuel gauge, and
several power-optimized peripherals. They feature an ultra-low-power buck regulator with a
quiescent current of 900nA (typical) and produces the system voltage of 1V8.
• Functional Purpose: Used as a linear battery charger, fuel gauge and provides output voltage for the
entire system.

MAIN PROCESSOR SECTION:

• Module: Main processor
• Part Number: STM32L162RDY6
• Description: STM32L1 MCU series stretches the state-of-art in ultra-low-power technology to
provide more performance. Successfully mixing ultra-low power capabilities with advanced
processing capabilities.
More than just ultra-low-power MCUs, the STM32L1 series offers a wide portfolio of features,
memory sizes and package pin counts. Combining ultra-low power and performance, the portfolio
covers from 32 to 512 Kbytes of Flash memory.
• Functional Purpose: Can process complex sleep/walk data.
CAPTOUCH SECTION:
• Module: Cap touch
• Part Number: AT42QT1070
• Description: The QT1070 can detect near-proximity or touch. By increasing the sensitivity, the
QT1070 can be used as a very effective proximity sensor, allowing the presence of a nearby object to
be detected.
• Functional Purpose: Can process a touch indirectly gives the ability to manage power effectively.
SENSOR SECTION:
• Module: Accelerometer/ Motor Driver
• Part Number: LIS2DH12/ DRV2605
• Description: The LIS2DH12 is an ultra-low-power high-performance three-axis linear accelerometer
belonging to the “femto” family with digital I2C/SPI serial interface standard output.
The LIS2DH12 has user-selectable full scales of ±2g/±4g/±8g/±16g and is capable of measuring
accelerations with output data rates from 1 Hz to 5.3 kHz.
The DRV2605 device is designed to provide extremely-flexible haptic control of ERM and LRA
actuators over a shared I2C-compatible bus. This control relieves the host processor from ever
generating pulse-width modulated (PWM) drive signals, saving both costly timer interrupts and
hardware pins.
• Functional Purpose: Accelerometer provides the ability to count steps and sleep state. Haptic motor
driver gives the ability to control ERM and LRA actuators to give feedback to the user.

BLE SECTION:
• Module: BLE
• Part Number: nRF51822
• Description: Nordic’s nRF51822 SoC provides Bluetooth LE connectivity between the wearable and a
Bluetooth 4.0 (and later) iOS or Android smartphone to transfer physiological data to the
smartphone.
• Functional Purpose: Gives the ability to update data to phone app and update Firmware.
