Introduction ief Description of Demographics of Community, School, Learners, and Setting for Data Collection: Community: Zane Trace High School is located on the outer belt of Chillicothe, Ohio, and home to students from the surrounding district areas (such as Kingston, Chillicothe, Tar Hollow). As a relatively rural and public area, the students attending this school come from a variety of socioeconomic status backgrounds, though the minorities are few. Scho {As obtained from the official school website, The Zane Trace Local School District consists of one K-12 building with three schools; Elementary, Middle School and High School. As a result, they have an enrollment of approximately 1402 students: APPROXIMATE ENROLLMENT * High School (9-12) - 473 * Middle School (5-8) — 411 * Elementary School (K-4) - 518 Total - 1402 The Zane Trace Local School District is located five miles northeast of Chillicothe, Ohio, in rural Ross County. The district is comprised of the villages of Kingston, Hallsvlle, and Adelphi, as well as rolling countryside between the villages. Zane Trace received the Momentum Award from the Ohio Department of Education in 2016, O As arecap of the three-in-one school district, the following information highlights accomplishments made in each distinct section. Zane Trace Elementary was honored as a School of Promise and receives great support from our Parent Volunteer Group, Parent Teacher Organization, Athletic Boosters, Band Boosters, and local businesses. The Elementary conducts Math Night, Literacy Night, Family Night, and Success by Six. ‘The Zane Trace Middle School houses @ Cereer Sased Intervention Program, Vocational Agriculture, Homework Help and Big Brothers/Big Sister Program, The Middle School also offers a variety of fifteen elective courses. The Positive Behavior Support System was implemented last school year. Zane Trace graduating seniors consistently rank among the top in the Southeast region in achievement. Forty percent of graduates in the class of 2017 continued their education at colleges/universities. Graduates earned $823,137 in scholarships. Zane Trace has had the highest ACT score in Ross County eight out of the last ten years. The district supports learning with: Technology, Enrichment programs, Electives, Reflex Math, Lexia Reading and Latch key, a few of which | have been given the privilege ‘to interact through Mrs. Congrove's High School English classroom. Other activities for students include: 32 boys’ and girls’ extra-curriculars and many more academic clubs such as FCA, FFA, Drama Club, LGBTQ, and more. As a previous participation of the first ‘three clubs listed, I was often able to help out with their activities now as an Advisor and participant when requested, asked, or needed.
